Winter now gives way to Spring, As birds begin to chirp and sing, The snow melts to reveal the grass, Which can embrace the Sun at last! The months of cold, of blanket snow, Fade into warmth for things to grow. New life breathes into the trees, As they gently push forth new leaves, To dance in the sun and freshen the air While they nourish the fruits that they will bear. Pretty flowers begin to bloom, So Nature’s Artwork can resume! The palette of colour, of shapes and sounds, Landscapes, delicate beauty all abound. The tulips and the daffodils, Meandering rivers and rolling hills; Baby bunnies out to play, Hopping everywhere they may! Baby goats and baby deer, Little creatures here and there! People milling all around, Happy not to be housebound! Children playing in the park, Sounds of laughter into the dark! Sports and boating, Ice cream shops, Picnics, movies, dinner dates, Spending time lifting weights! Riding bikes, and meeting friends, Feeling quite renewed again! Then as the days and weeks go on Summer quietly comes along! With her comes heat unlike the Spring, Which brought warmth, gentle and refreshing. As Summer works its way to Fall, The magical colours change on all, The Autumn leaves then make ways For three more months of Winter’s days. And so the cycle starts anew, More and more blankets of snow to go through! © Copyright by The Poet Way
